What stays on your iPhone
To run the game, Eight Paths saves your player name, chosen class, quests, completed quests and their times, personal goals, party and collection, rest tokens, reminder time and settings such as your theme and vibration choice. This information is saved only in the app's private storage on your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else. That includes the names of your habits and when you complete them.
Online features (optional)
You can play Eight Paths without an account. If you choose to join the Second 100, to add friends and compare collections, you sign in with Apple or with Google, and we store:
- An account identifier from Sign in with Apple or Google. With Apple we ask for no name and no email. With Google, Google shares your email address and basic profile with us as part of signing in.
- Your public profile: the username you choose, your founder number (if you were one of the first 100), your friend code, your party leader and party, your overall level, the app version you use and when you were last active.
- Consistency numbers, only if you share them: days shown up and your current streak. You can turn this off in the app, and we then store nothing for them.
- Your collection: which characters you have woken, and when.
- Friends: who you are friends with, who you have blocked, which friend code you joined with, and any reports you send about another player.
Friends can see your public profile, consistency numbers (if shared) and collection. Other players can see how many players have woken each character and which username was first. Your quests, habit names, goals and completion times are never uploaded.
Premium subscriptions
Eight Paths Premium is an optional monthly subscription sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment; we never see your card or billing details. We use RevenueCat to sell Premium and check whether your subscription is active. RevenueCat starts each time the app opens, for every player, whether or not you subscribe: it assigns an anonymous app user ID and receives basic device details (such as the iOS and app version, country and IP address). If you subscribe or restore a purchase, it also receives the App Store's record of your purchase (product, dates, price and country). If you have joined the Second 100, that ID is your account identifier, so your subscription follows your account. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Who processes this data
- Supabase hosts the database and sign-in for the online features.
- RevenueCat checks subscriptions.
- Apple and Google provide sign-in, and Apple processes payments.
Like any online service, Supabase and RevenueCat see your IP address when the app connects to them. We don't use it to locate or track you.
We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, or use it to track you across other apps and websites. The app has no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, the app schedules reminders on your device. These are local notifications created and delivered by iOS; no data is sent to a server to deliver them. You can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.
Deleting your data
In the app, open Friends and choose Delete account. This permanently deletes your profile, username, founder number, collection, friends and blocks from our servers and, for Sign in with Apple, revokes the app's access to your Apple ID. Your game on your iPhone stays. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. If your device backups include app data, a copy may remain in those backups under your control.
Deleting your account does not cancel a Premium subscription; manage or cancel it in your iPhone's Settings under your Apple ID and Subscriptions. Apple and RevenueCat keep purchase records as required for billing and tax. You can ask us to delete RevenueCat's records of your purchases by emailing us.
How long we keep it
We keep your online profile and collection until you delete your account. Reports are kept as long as needed to review them and keep players safe.
Children
Eight Paths is not directed to children under 13, and the online features are not intended for them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has joined, contact us and we will delete the account.
Health information
Eight Paths is a habit game. It is not a medical, clinical or mental health service and does not provide medical advice. The app links to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US); contacting 988 is between you and the Lifeline and is covered by their privacy practices.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
